About the Liquid Poets
We are the Liquid Poets Society: a dedicated group of homebrewers living, working, and brewing in Northern Colorado. We hold regular club meetings on the first Thursday of every month where we discuss and evaluate homebrew, hold and attend lectures about different aspects of brewing, and generally enjoy each other’s company.
Everyone, 21 and over, is welcome to join. All we ask is that you participate in the club by bringing in your own homebrew to share with other members. Snacks are much appreciated as well.
Homebrew includes any fermented alcoholic beverage, such as: beer, wine, mead, or cider (and many others). It also includes other homemade beverages such as sodas, kombucha, etc.
Home-distilled spirits are not homebrew. At this point in time, distilling your own spirits is illegal in the state of Colorado and we do not condone unlicensed distillation.
We are not a drinking club. This society is for homebrewers, by homebrewers. If you do not homebrew, then this is probably not the club for you. However, we do welcome folks who don’t homebrew yet, but are interested in getting started.
We put on several events every year. We host the Poetry Slam, an AHA-sanctioned homebrew competition. For members-only: we hold a Big Brew on National Homebrewing Day where we get together and all brew beer, drink beer, eat, and enjoy hanging out; there is also a Summer BBQ and Camping Trip; and each year we have a Christmas Party pot luck that includes a silent auction with all kinds of cool schwag, with all proceeds going to the Larimer County Food Bank.
If you’re interested in joining us, it’s easy! Go here and follow the directions and we’ll see you at a meeting soon.
You can join this website separately from the club. If you want to use our forums to talk about homebrewing online, register here. Please no merchants or other commercial entities. This is a club of hobbyists.
