In the spirit of our new website, I thought I’d post about a (fairly) new online brewing tool called Brewtoad. Brewtoad allows you to create, update, and publish recipes. It also have a social aspect in that you can share and follow recipes and/or brewers.

So far it seems to be free, and signing up is a cinch if you have a Facebook account. I haven’t used extensively enough to see how accurate the calculators are, but the interface is quite nice. It even looks good on mobile apps.

I’ve signed up, you can view my profile: here.

Anyone else found any cool online tools?

That looks like a pretty handy tool for recipes. I mostly use BeerSmith for recipes, but some of the other tools I use are:

Mr Malty calculator for yeast pitch rates: http://www.mrmalty.com/yeast-tools.php

    http://www.brewersfriend.com/

    Water Chemistry Stuff: http://www.ezwatercalculator.com/

I was trying to sign up for brewtoad (thought I had a hopville account, having trouble tracking it down), but something seems messed up with their registration process at the moment. Hopefully they get it straightened out soon.

That’s too bad. It’s easily one of the nicest UI’s for the web apps I’ve found.

It’s working now, so must have just been a temporary hiccup.

It does look pretty nice, I’ll have to try it out for a while

Here’s a page I hit pretty frequently, mostly for the mash:liquor volume calculator:
